Places to Hike

Bryce Canyon has some great hiking but in the event it is overcrowded, Red Canyon offers rivaling trails and views with a bit less tourists during the busy season. The following is a short list trails to check out during your visit:

Pink Ledges Trail (Difficulty: Easy-Moderate, Distance: .7 mi, Time: 1hr)

Hoodoo Trail (Difficulty: Easy, Distance:.5 mi, Time: 1hr)

Bird’s Eye Trail (Difficulty: Easy, Distance:1.7 mi, Time: 1hr)

Golden Wall Trail (Difficulty: Moderate – Distance: 2.3 mi, Time: 1.5hr)

Cassidy Trails (Difficulty: Moderate – Distance: 4.6 mi, Time: 2.5hr)

Camping

Red Canyon offers camping options along scenic byway 12. It offers single and double campsites. Drinking water and a dump station are available. Sites are on a first come first serve basis and open from late April to October. Click here for more information.

Best Time To Visit

The best time to visit this state park is during the spring/summer timeframe. Hitting the trails early or later in the day can help to avoid day time high temps and some of the crowds.

Location

Located in the heart of Red Canyon, Red Canyon Visitor Center is about a twenty minute drive from Tropic and has some incredible views a long the way.
